Set it to true if you want N4 to record the REEFER event for a unit in the yard. You can use the REEFER event to calculate the actual power consumption charges from the first power connect date/time to the last power disconnect date/time for a container.
The default value of INVBILLING003 is false and N4 does not record the REEFER event for the reefers in the yard.
The REEFER event has a start date and time. When you connect the reefer power for the first time at the facility, N4 inserts a REEFER event into the Chargeable Unit Events view with a start time for the event. When you disconnect the reefer power, N4 updates the same event with an end time. However, if you reconnect the same unit, N4 ignores the previous disconnect. N4 treats the last disconnect as the end of the REEFER event and uses the end time of the last disconnect to calculate the reefer charges.
While a reefer unit is in the yard, N4 records a UNIT_POWER_CONNECT event each time you plug in the reefer and records a UNIT_POWER_DISCONNECT event each time you unplug the reefer. You can mark these events as billable, if required. You can use the billable UNIT_POWER_CONNECT and UNIT_POWER_DISCONNECT events to determine how many times a reefer unit had to be plugged in or unplugged if you want to invoice a customer for reefer handling.
Notes
Due to complicated exceptional conditions, N4 does not handle the brief periods of time when the unit is within the facility but is disconnected for any reason. However, you can use code extensions to accommodate for these times when calculating the actual power consumption charges.
N4 writes the REEFER event directly to the Chargeable Unit Events view (on page 1) and does not extract it as part of the billing extract.
